SPACE X EXHIBITION

Reform The Funk Re-Launches With Space Exhibition

Reform The Funk official launch was an exhibition titled Space, curated by Derrick Kakembo and held in Battersea, London. The idea of the exhibition was to showcase the creativity of Black British people who are so often pushed out of mainstream stories and provide them with their own space to express themselves through art. The event coincided with Black History Month and explored the Black British experience, a story told through various art forms, expressed freely and exclusively how the artists saw fit.

Space consisted of five artists exploring the notion and narrative of the Black British experience, through film, photography and performance art in honour of Black History Month. Visual artist Ejatu Shaw, Fimmaker MUSA, Photographer Derrick Kakembo, Performance Dancer Layo and Musicians Raptum & Alessandro Babalola.
