These photographs were taken in a gated community and nature reserve in Brasilia, Brazil. I was fascinated by the weird combination of new houses, empty plots, brick walls, the nature around it and the particular red earth you can find in that area. The word “terra” means earth in Portuguese.

The Brazilian President, Bolsonaro, was elected in 2018; he represents hate, largely towards black people and gay people. He is selling out the Amazon rainforest, wants to legalize fire weapons, and does not support art and education, especially not for poor people. A lot of people are scared and desire to leave the country due to his politics. This fashion editorial story is supposed to transmit the opposite of everything he stands for.

I met Jéssica and Júnior, whilst looking for people to photograph for this project and they created a beautiful and harmonious synergy. I wanted them to interact in this environment transmitting love and respect between each other and for the nature around them.
