Editorial: The Arrival Of Otherworldly Beauty
This fashion story is a reflection of the ever more growing trend of alien beauty, the birth of a new way of self-expression. A self-born, independent act of being in charge behind one's appearance, regardless of natural features. Inspired by Sci-Fi classics such as Alien / The Matrix, this beauty emerges from the unknown: a blurred shape that carries both an element of birth and of a nightmare. The idea of the unknown and the uncanny is explored as the driving force in this futuristic fantasy world. Showcased is a world of excess, an alienated form departed from the natural. The toxic green: a halo-like spaceship ambience sets the tone for the overall dark atmosphere. The monotone tonality contrasts the vibrantly bold and eccentric colours of artifice. The fashion’s focus lies on exciting textures, eccentric shapes, exaggerated body parts and translucency. The make-up and hair are bold, graphic and challenging and serves as a mask, distracting from the natural.
